Objective: Provide a highly secure document that is easy to authenticate and protect against digital replications, alterations or reproduction attempts.
Security Paper: Appleton 25# DocuCheck® Fourdrinier Watermark features a distinctive watermark embedded in the paper fibers that shows up as a phantom image visible in both transmitted and reflective light. Fourdrinier process forms an image that cannot be altered, modified or accurately duplicated, thereby quickly establishing authenticity. The paper includes chemical protection from color indicators that react to chemicals, blue and red visible fibers, and invisible fluorescent fibers. The paper also included Appleton’s toner adhesion coating, which more securely anchors images to the paper.
Chemical Sensitivity: The paper is treated with chemical reactive agents that protect against alteration by changing colors when exposed to agents such as bleaches, solvents, ink eradicators, alkalis and acids.
Security Fibers: Both visible and invisible randomly distributed fibers embedded in the paper during manufacture and are non-reproducible. Visible fibers are readily visible to the naked eye and will show up as marks in the paper if copied. Invisible fibers are identical to visible fibers except they are not visible to the naked eye and only appear under black light and are impossible to replicate on copiers.
TonerFuse® II Coating: Protects documents that include toner printer by bonding the toner to the document. Attempted removal, abrasion or erasure of the printing causes visible damage.
Micro Printing: “Republica Moldova” printing is so small it appears as a solid line or pattern to the naked eye, but appears under magnification. Most copiers or desktop scanners cannot replicate this level of finite detail.
High-resolution border: An intricate design that is difficult to re-create and will readily distort when scanned or photocopied.
Prismatic background: A multicolored background that graduates from blue to yellow to red. This relief-pattern background prevents reproduction from color copying. In addition, the dual image number creates a red halo around the serial number. A special red ink bleeds through to the back of the document so it can be verified for authenticity. Color copiers cannot accurately replicate these images back-to-back.
ThermoHide™: Brisk and rapid rubbing of the indicia in the signature area reveals a hidden message and verifies authenticity.
Thermochromatic ink: A printed shield on the back of the document disappears when heated or briskly rubbed, thereby allowing instant verification of authenticity.
Hologram: A true registered hologram that is optically originated with laser light. Three-dimensional optical images separate or appear layered when viewed at various angles.
CodeSafe®: Non-organic “DNA” molecular code protection with absolute court-enforceable authentication. Immediate verification in the field is made by:
• Black light, which causes the CodeSafe area to fluoresce blue.
• Inspection with a specially tuned laser pen will cause the CodeSafe area to fluoresce Green.
• This dual-fluorescing reaction is known as up-and-down conversion and is more that just a fluorescing ink when exposed to a black light.
• The laser pen device is specially tuned to an exact wavelength designed to react with CodeSafe. This wavelength is out of the normal visual spectrum of light, thereby rendering the beam invisible to the human eye, but it will fluoresce when targeting the CodeSafe area, thereby providing undeniable secure document verification that is court-enforceable.

Objective: Provide a secure parking pass that could not be color copied.
Security Paper: SafeImage™ Paper Security is a true watermark paper with unique security images embedded into the paper, which can only be viewed by translucent “pass through light.” SafeImage incorporates other in-paper security features, including chemical protection from special color indicators that react to chemicals, blue and red visible fibers, and invisible fluorescent fibers. The paper also has a special toner adhesion coating that more securely anchors images to the paper, thereby making it more difficult to remove images without visible damage to the paper.
The base paper used in SafeImage™ is DocuMark® Custom, which is manufactured by Appleton. Appleton also designed the custom SafeImage watermark exclusively for ProDocumentSolutions, as well as developed the in-paper security features and special toner adhesion coating.
The SafeImage paper is under full chain of custody control by ProDocumentSolutions and is only available to certified customers.
NaNoCopy™ Security Background: An anti-copy background that utilizes a microscopic text and numerical algorithm to easily authenticate a transcript. Most warning backgrounds use dots or lines, which are easy to copy. Standard or custom warning messages are available.
TamperSafe®: An optical variable pixel hologram with the word “SAFE” ghosted into it. When viewed at different angles, four distinctly different images are visible. TamperSafe is fused into the substrate, so removal is impossible without destroying the paper.

MetallicSafe™ Security Image: An instant-optical verifier that protects transcripts from scanning and photocopying. When scanned or copied, the image or sequential number turns black and disappears, causing a counterfeit to be unusable.
